Preparing for Mocks after Christmas

Balancing studying and Christmas is not very easy, but it is possible. If you want to enjoy your break but also be well prepare for the January mocks, here are 5 important tips.

1 – Ensure you leave several days for just relaxing. Relaxing is more than just fun; it is essential for productivity. Please make sure you reserve a few days for just chilling out and doing what you enjoy most. If you schedule specific time for it, you will enjoy that time more and be more productive when you are back at work.

2 – Prioritise your goals. You don’t have unlimited time to revise. What is it that you want to focus on? Memorisation of old content? Reminding yourself of the foundational ideas for your subject? Returning to a topic you never really understood? Once you decide what to do, organising your time and effort becomes a lot easier. We can help with setting goals and organising your time.

3 – Learn effective studying techniques. We will be sharing more effective memory skills over the next couple of months. 4 – Forgive yourself if you make a mistake! Everyone has a day where they could have been more focused and worked harder. If you get distracted, understand it is normal, and try to get back to revising well again tomorrow.

5 – Plan a reward for after your mocks. Working hard becomes easier once you remember what you are working towards, and planning a treat for after exams, whatever it is you are planning, can give you something to look forward to and work towards
